Should I be worried about the nursing home?
Answer: Yes and No. Yes, it’s a valid concern. A recent study by the University of California noted that about 70% of individuals that live to the age of 65 will wind up needing long term care at some point. And on average, women require an average of 3.7 years of care while men require an average of 2.2 years of care.
But here’s the good news. Did you know that 80% of all care received for long term care
expenses are received at home? I try to focus my planning on ways we can keep you at home
where you are comfortable and familiar. I want you to be able to not only stay at home, but
have the resources to pay for the care you need as you get older.
Some clients are still choosing traditional long term care insurance as the best option for them
but if you have waited a little too long and it has become too expensive. Take a look at the
hybrid long term care products that many of my clients love. They cover in home care, assisted
living, and the nursing home. Give me a call today and we can discuss your options.
