Not so fast…let’s explain.  A law passed in 1983 changed the full retirement age for many Americans. your full retirement age is the age you’re eligible for full social security benefits.

Born before 1943?   Full Retirement age is 65

Born from 1943 to 1954?  Full Retirement age is 66

Born in 1960 or after?  Full Retirement age is 67
