Finally, a good dental plan for individuals and families
I’ve been in the insurance industry for almost 25 years now and I am constantly asked if there are any good dental insurance plans. Unfortunately, unless you meet very specific criteria, my answer is usually, “no”. Dental insurance is typically a good purchase for those who have access to group insurance, but not if you are buying it as an individual consumer.
Why?
For a quality plan, premiums are typically between $ 40 and $ 55 a month.
Waiting periods of 3 to 6 months for things like fillings and extractions
Waiting periods for root canals and crowns can be a year or more.
Caps – the maximum most plans will pay out in a year is typically $ 1,000 to $ 1,500.
Now for the Good News!
A dental plan has just been released that solves my objections to the dental insurance dilemma. They have two different plans depending on what you are looking for.
